I’m from Northumberland in the UK and I like hiking. Here are some pictures from a short walk in the grounds of Cragside

Hi Chris, yeah just post any old stuff from your walks. Only a few folk will see it just now but those that do will appreciate it. And random content keeps the UK side alive!

Pass! Not a scooby, I’m afraid!
I’ll have a sniff when I’m next doing maintenance if it’s not apparent soon :)

Edit: Both of those images failed to load when I tried, maybe the upload failed? To the logs!

Are we limited to two images in a post? It didn’t seem to let me add more after this.

We have a rate limit on images, but that wouldn’t explain all of them failing.

There is a also a size limit, but I don’t think you hit that. I’ll try to peruse the logs later.

Edit: I had a look. It’s bloody weird. We use an application to handle image uploads/storage/serving, etc.
For some reason, the first record I have is of it issuing a delete command for your image.
I’m sure it’s not you, but I am very curious what happened now lol.
Were you using the web interface, or a mobile client?

I don’t know if it has helped but we’ve given the image hosting a kick, so see if that helps:

      https://feddit.uk/post/8593238

Also I tend to externally host my images (on Lensdump, other services are available) which takes the strain off the instances hosting and keeps everything in one, easy to find location. It should, at least, get around any issues like this.

Oh and I also started [email protected] if you are interested. I just need to get my arse in gear and post there!

Welcome Chris! I have been to most of the national parks in the UK but I have not been to Northumberland yet. Thanks for sharing!

    Evening Chris,

Welcome to the fediverse and settle in. Random hiking pics always welcome. Also post typical Northern stuff, and you’ll help a lot of us with our homesickness!

    Gorgeous, i love it!

You’ll find fewer people here but more genuine engagement. That’s been my experience on Lemmy at any rate

Welcome, one tip, if you are a reddit refuge, use the Voyager app. It has a migrate sub functionality that will aid with discovery of communities
