There seems to be federation issues with Lemmy.world.

Lemmy.world recently did an update that might’ve broken some things.

Looks like we are still lagging behind. 52/57 now as of now for the 2nd example.
Edit1: And those 5 are all new comments from the past 4 hours. Edit2: confirmed Lemmy world is not updating fast enough to some servers

Reddthat is currently in the Lagging instances section as far as LW is concerned: https://phiresky.github.io/lemmy-federation-state/site?domain=lemmy.world As of this comment we were 28192 behind.

It will eventually sort it self out.

Edit3: after some more investigation I confirmed there was something just not quite right happening. We recently updated our webhooks, which directly interfaces with the database. I’ve removed the webhooks and the site is back up. I expect the items to catch up within the next 20 mins

Edit4: already caught up with lemmee. We were 30k+ after the server reboot, and already back to 28k. Maybe I under estimated how fast it will take. But I wouldn’t expect more than the next 2 hours

        Edit5: down to 24k now.

The problem I’m seeing with lemmy.world is that 95% of the posts and comments show as having a vote total of 0. Is it possible the federation protocol transmits votes separately from posts, and those messages are backlogged? I’m not up for reviewing the protocol right now but it’s the only plausible explanation I can think of. It also seems horribly inefficient if new posts and comments need a separate update even for the one upvote everything gets by default.
