    Tired:

People on social media have terrible reading comprehension

    Wired:

People on social media will do almost anything to avoid a phone call and would pay you double if you just had an online order form

You also get the “I must make the simplest transaction absurdly difficult for no apparent reason” shopper:

Hi Alice, I want one of your pies, I’m situated at <location 40km from where you are> and I have $2.98 in cash. Would it be possible for you to meet me 26.7km away from my house where I’ll give you the $2.98 in cash, and then the remaining balance in a series of travelers cheques, one of which is from a country which no longer exists but I assure you it can still be converted to legal tender if you’re willing to make a quick stop at the Belarusian Embassy? Also what kind of apples are in the pie? If the amount of baking apples relative to other apples is above 68.7% I can’t eat it or I’ll die, but anything below that amount is fine.

This isn’t just social media. Most of my coworkers at my last job were like this any time I sent them a message with more than one piece of information in it. I swear screens break some people’s reading ability.

Of course people are obnoxious but the costs associated with transactions are unavoidable, this is the key point so many people don’t understand about minimum wage - transactions are difficult especially when consumers see little marginal benefit (if this fast food restaurant doesn’t cater to my every whim I’ll just go to their competitor next door) and corporations see little marginal revenue change with additional labor investment (if this employee doesn’t stop complaining i can just hire someone else)

This shit is worn out, the lady wants to make a buck off of selling pies but doesn’t want to take on the responsibilities of running a legitimate business which include talking to people and answering questions.
