I see it appears most things are cleaned up and the MichelleG account is not listed as an admin anymore. Noticed lemmy.ml is still blocked however as well as instances that were blocked are no longer(explodingheads):

The blocked instances list was emptied when the site was hacked. Once the issue was resolved everything was turned back the way it was.

Were we not defederated from Lemmygrad? That appears to be refederated again following the attack.

Strange. They only started showing up in my All feed (that I’ve noticed, to be sure) today. Thanks for clarifying Ruud.

Why was Exploding Heads allowed back? Is this related to the hack?

Then I guess that just needs to change. I have no interest personally in associating with CCP advocates and apologists.

I subscribe to politically agnostic community such as jerboa for android app, Firefox, Framework, MS teams, memmy, Mlem etc. they don’t discuss any political stuffs

I’m not criticizing you for using lemmy.ml it was the default on jerboa which was the first contender for Lemmy which ended up with a lot of people hopping straight into it. The problem is that the admins enforce rules that aren’t explicitly stated on the domain and ban users who haven’t done anything rule breaking. This includes criticizing the CCP.

The only good thing about the Lemmy developers is that they made certain actions across instances visible to everyone.

If Firefox, MS Teams, etc… were on a website called “nazis.social” would you still happily sign up?

Tankies will tell you the rape and abduction of Ukrainian children by Russian soliders is western propoganda and Russia is right to invade because Ukraine isn’t a country and provoked them.

Tankies will tell you China’s forced sterilisation of Ughurs and their mass execution for organ donation is just western propoganda or justified because the west has done worse things.

This is why I asked my original question, their views are as extreme and unpleasant as Nazi’s. The only difference is general awareness of how vile they are.

Personally I don’t care what communities are on lemmy.ml or lemmygrad.ml. Those instances are administered by Tankies, everyone on those instances has chosen to associate themselves with Tankies.

I choose not to associate with Tankies.

I keep seeing people like you comment about this thing. It really annoys me.

Pray, do tell me: on what kind or form do these “commie admins” force you to and/or promote their ideologies? Are they doing it in a way like Huffman gives threats to reddit mods?

They literally ban people for posting content they disagree with regarding the CCP. If you want to turn a blind eye sobeit but not everyone cares to shill propagandists that have actual manifestos about communism on their GitHub.

So by that, they are literally violating rule 1 of their own established site rules. Touche.

Look, the actual definition of communism now has been distorted thanks to them culture of weird fascist-esque propaganda and weird romanticism of them so called ‘communists’ online and on 4chan/other parts of the web. There’s something that needs to be done (like make a clear line of which is which/what kind of spectrums are user X/Dev Y/community Z) before we let ourselves loose and turn into rabid right-wingers here.

My dude i voted for Justin Trudeau I’m not a right winger. I just also don’t like the way the CCP oppresses their citizens, actively, like right now as we type these messages to each other from the comfort of our homes.

I wouldn’t call communism inherently bad but his manifesto specifically is about excusing “communist” atrocities.

The people upthread have a point. When I was explaining what Lemmy was to someone, when I mentioned the Lemmy.ml instance they asked why it had that extension and then pointed out that ml was usually a tankie thing. Not a great look
