Since some instances were compromised earlier I’ve been able to access the desktop and mobile sites (just had to log in again) but can’t get third party apps to work. Jerboa seems confused whether I’m logged in or not, some pages work and others give a ‘not logged in’ error - I don’t see any option to log out or remove account from the app? Liftoff not working at all, I tried removing and re-linking my account but it’s hanging when I try to sign in. Are the apps down for everyone just now, or is there something I can do to fix it?

PS. if anyone knows how to avoid Firefox crashing when using it to view Lemmy as a webapp (is that the right term??) please enlighten me because it crashes whenever I lock my phone or tab over to another app.

PPS. I hope it’s okay to ask these kind of support questions here, if there’s a dedicated tech support community please point me in the right direction, thanks!

Due to the attack, some admins logged out everyone’s account for security. This also means you’d be logged out of third-party apps, but the apps may not respond properly.

You can try to log out of the account on the third party app and relogin, see if that fixes the issue

and if you get the funny “you need to be logged in to logout” message -> delete app data in your phones app settings. did the trick for me.

From Liftoff I have to erase the account and login again. Except for that I didn’t see more issue.

Had some issues with Jerboa as well this morning. I cleared all the app data/cache, logged back in and it worked again.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Cleared app data for Jerboa (and uh, found the login button… /facepalm) and that fixed it. Liftoff I had to totally reinstall but now seems to be working fine \(・◡・)/

Adding new user with same name/password/instance was enough for me, account wasn’t even doubled.

For me Liftoff worked fine just removing the account and re-adding it.

I’m not able to get push notifications from Memmy anymore, just a loading thing and I have to force close 😔 something to do with what happened?

Edit: all fixed now with latest update from App Store 🙏

Sounds like they didn’t test what happens with their apps when token is reset on server 🤔 should be reported to the apps devs. Thankfully with lemmy this is easier to fix than with proprietary services because you can self-host it and check various edge cases.
