I’ve been getting emails from the superintendent about this. It’s very annoying.

Earlier today, Judge Lynn Adelman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin granted a temporary restraining order prohibiting the Mukwonago Area School District from implementing Policy 5514 - Student Privacy in Restrooms and Locker Rooms. The text of the judge’s order is below. The District will continue to defend Policy 5514 in the interest of protecting the safety, privacy, and wellness of all students. We will also continue to keep the community informed as this case proceeds through the litigation process.

TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER signed by Judge Lynn Adelman on 07/06/23. IT IS ORDERED that plaintiff’s motion for a temporary restraining order is GRANTED. The Mukwonago Area School District, Superintendent Joe Koch, and all officers, employees, and agents of defendants, are hereby restrained from: (1) enforcing against plaintiff any policy, practice, or custom that denies plaintiff access to girls’ restrooms at school and school-sponsored events; and (2) taking any formal or informal disciplinary action against plaintiff for using girls’ restrooms at school and school-sponsored events.
