Yo,

I just got a “come join us on Discord”-Popup inviting Sync users to join the community for Sync for Lemmy on Discord.

Two questions:

  1. Why and
  2. Why?

I don’t want the join another Sync community when I have this one right here AND I especially do not want to join a community on Discord.

It just seems a bit tine deaf?

LJ, the reason I feel so strongly about this is that I really like Sync! We have an awesome app and we have a good community here. What gives?

The discord predates the community and is better for real time chatting.

Also handy for adding / debugging features in real time with users

I joined the discord as Sync for Lemmy was being developed and can echo what’s said above.

Good dialogue, faster feed back, more back-and-forth on issues.

      It just works.

I think we heard you the first time you posted this exact statement.

Now this just looks like trolling.

We get enough pop-overs in life for subscribing to mailing lists, taking a survey, something about cookies (I know there are legal reasons for that one), and probably other things I’m not thinking of offhand. I really wish they didn’t add to the pile, even if it’s just a one-off (hopefully it is!)

istg this might be the dumbest reason to uninstall an app. that popup is just a one time thing right?

What a clown lol. It was literally more effort to take that screenshot than to dismiss the pop-up.
