The Democrat is outperforming the Republican in a series of polls.

I’m not being complacent but I can’t see Palestine meaning more to the average American than abortion rights. In the end Roe v Wade being struck down will decide this election handily.

I hope, mind you. And my heart hurts about Palestine. I also hope we can do better.

I’m still more worried for the economy. Republicans think the border is the issue, but all past election trends point to a failing economy knocking the incumbent out. Granted, we’re far from a traditional election but my company has been holding it’s breath on it for a while now (not hiring/doing more with less). I think we’ve been in one, regardless of what the stock market is doing (and how they want to redefine the word). The question is, will it drop significantly between now and November?

That’s fair. I think and hope the economy will stay strong through November.

This is the longest stretch of low unemployment of my lifetime. I hope that counts for enough and the wage growth comes through enough.

I’m doing okay but my wife and I are dinks so it’s a little easier for us.

Also: great fucking movie and book.

If companies stop hiring due to fears of an upcoming recession, unemployment goes up and they trigger a recession. This is why they have to keep the economy messaging positive. If you tell companies to prepare for a POSSIBLE recession you can very easily trigger a recession. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

We aren’t in a recession but all these layoffs seem like CEOs are determined to put us in one.

theres some who are actively trying to tank the economy in order to throw the election. i think that should be considered treason, if not terrorism, but it doesn’t seem to be.

I’m one of those voters. My heart does hurt for Palestine, and I am for the people who are protest voting (in the primary) as “non-committed” and whatnot, in order to show their disdain for how the Biden administration is handling Palestine.

HOWEVER, my heart also hurts for all those young girls in hyper religious states that either don’t have access to/cant afford birth control, and have their lives pre-emptively decided for them at 17 years old. I’m for women like Katie Cox in Texas whose pregnancy was likely going to kill her, her baby wasn’t going to survive more than a few hours anyhow, and she had 2 little ones already at home. I’m for the women who just flat out don’t want to have children and their birth control methods fail.

This is my biggest, personal, most forefront issue (followed closely by preserving future Democratic elections, which I don’t believe will ever happen again if another Republican is elected to the Whitehouse anytime soon)

Yeah it’s almost like none of this shit matters until early November when people actually decide whether they’re going to vote or not.

Sorry to be that guy but these were RV polls. LV (Likely Voters) polls filter for voters that are more likely to vote and those still favor Trump.

Also Biden is underwater in almost every swing state poll. A handful of states are going to decide this thing. Biden needs to win these swing states like Michigan.

No apologies needed! I think it’s important to note that RVs can’t even vote, anyway. Why would they even poll them!? I’m not aware of any state in the US where recreational vehicles are allowed a vote, since most people don’t even consider them to be human at this point. With the way this country is going, I highly doubt they’ll ever be recognized. RV suffrage now!

This far out, registered voter polls are more predictive (although both are pretty garbage) they’ll converge in late July and then, after the conventions, likely voter polls pick away quickly.

It’s stupid horserace polling, they have minimal value except maybe telling an incumbent President that he needs to put aside his arrogance and change course if he is serious about saving democracy.

Nah, they’re extremely valuable to industry folks who can’t collude directly with campaigns.

For the population at large they’re just entertainment for team-sports politics.

The ONLY poll that counts, is the election.

All the bullshit-polls before the election are just “news” matadors trying to get more stampeding with flagwavin, among the masses/herd/populations.

Remember some years ago, when all the polls were wrong, and some individual guy with competent statistics predicted EVERY state right?

Accuracy, not stampeding, is what we should be rewarding in journalism/news.
