Mine too actually!.. I guess not anymore. Might have something to do with playing hundreds of hours of 007 nightfire as a kid.

Not everyone is a kid during the same era, now go drink your Ovaltine!

(Golden eye was better for sure)

Nope, my progression was NES > PS2 because I was poor. I missed out on a lot, though I got to play my friend’s N64 a few times.

He’s the one whose movies were in theaters in the 90’s and early 00’s. (Personally, I’d go with Dalton.)

That is so much of what drives people’s opinions I think. My favourite bands are still the ones that I found when I was in highschool and college. Some of them were current and otherwise.

If I had to pick a favourite bond actor it would be Brosnan because he was bond when I was kid.

I have to remind myself of this when something gets remade. It doesn’t mean the first one was good, that was just what my nostalgia reminds me of.

Not saying nuance doesn’t exist, but for things that people don’t really think about, nostalgia is powerful.

connery is more charming, moore is more earnest and craig got to star after they stopped writing scripts where the female leads had names like Hellacious Vag

Fun fact! They only changed that because of Austin Powers. In fact Austin Powers almost killed the James Bond movie franchise entirely because the satire was so on point.

Invisible cars, bad CGI and nonsensical plots were killing 007. AP just highlighted that.

Fair that was apparently fleming’s choice. I’ve always been partial to a spot of Tim dalton tbh. I always felt roger Moore was the saint first and bond second somehow but yeah good choice good choice

I did like Timothy Dalton, but I feel like he wasn’t in enough films to really get to know him in the role lol

Will always remember when I was playing multiplayer GoldenEye in college and one of the guys said this as he was killing Bond (complete with accent)! RIP Robin.

Yeah… I stopped having a favorite “actor-who-played-a-personification-of-rapacious-British-imperialsm” when I realized that they were acting as a personification of rapacious British imperialism.

      Better question:

Who is RFK Jr. and why should I care?

Until right this instant I never knew the guy existed.

        https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/rfk-jr-accused-making-antisemitic-racist-claims-covid/story?id=101323851

There’s a lot more to go into beyond the most recent and obvious, but it involves his deliberate targeting of the black community with misinformation and a discussion of historical usage of Great Replacement theories, historical dogwhistling, and other kinds of nuance that someone asking honest questions might be interested in.

" I have never, ever suggested that the COVID-19 virus was targeted to spare Jews. I accurately pointed out — during an off-the-record conversation — that the U.S. and other governments are developing ethnically targeted bioweapons and that a 2021 study of the COVID-19 virus shows that COVID-19 appears to disproportionately affect certain races since the furin cleave docking site is most compatible with Blacks and Caucasians and least compatible with ethnic Chinese, Finns, and Ashkenazi Jews"

Yeah. In the original clip he only mentions Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese (nothing about Finns). He was shoehorning a conspiracy theory into conveniently chosen facts.

      He endorsed RFK Junior.

Also, there have been plenty of people throughout history who lived in “ignorant” cultures who weren’t racist, misogynistic, etc.

Being afraid of the unlike is natural. Overcoming that fear, makes you civilized.

Remember, during American Slavery there were groups of people who were against the racism and slavery during that time…

It may not have been a massive movement but still.

      It’s not modern thinking

My personal completely unprovable theory is that when the Qanon crowd was getting excited about JFK Jr returning as a zombie to lead them to the promised land it got started from a discussion about RFK Jr and somebody made a typo that the rest of the clown show latched on to.

Or maybe they just didn’t know the difference. Being clowns.
