I hate to see a news org cut staff like this but it suggests that the Athletic will be well supported by the NYT. I’ve subscribed to both sites/papers but really appreciate what the Athletic is doing. I’ve been constantly afraid it would end up like “the National”, the last daily sports paper that swung for the fences.
