    I would imagine due to history that Russia has extremely deep networks of intelligence and military ops occurring constantly in Cuba since the 60s.

      Cuba has always used human capital. During the Soviet years they provided military groups internationally, after it is doctors and nurses which they ran out of. The state always makes out.

        What? AFAIK Cuba still sends those out all over the world.

          They’re some of the few doctors that’ll work in the more remote regions in South America.

        I mean, given the historic relations between Cuba and Russia, I can’t say I’m necessarily SURPRISED by it. It would be weirder if it were a country that you wouldn’t commonly associate with Russia, like, I dunno, Belgium or somebody.
