I’ve been logged out from my lemmy.world account three times in the past hour. Is something weird happening again?

I’ve been on during yesterday’s redirecting issues, if it matters.

My account seems fine. I was logged out after the hack. I suppose the admins had all accounts logged out so they could fix the problem. Other than that, everything seems fine on my end. I’m using Jerboa or whatever it is called to access lemmy currently so idk what’s going on.

Correct. We had to reset the JWT secret so everyone had to login again.

@[email protected] So, how do we get logged in again? I have tried numerous browsers, devices, logged out, nuked cache / cookies and logged in again. Cannot log in via Edge, Safari, Firefox and hardly through Memmy iOS app. After hours, it kinda becomes annoying.

Thx for fixing this and updating everyone. Makes me forget the few hours of trouble :)

Issue seems fixed after Lemmy upgrade to 0.18.2

It’s an issue with the server changing their back end tokens, to invalidate them all across the board, and make the ones obtained in the recent hack unusable.

You have to refresh your cache and cookies for it to work.

Not sure about how you do it on mobile, but CTRL-SHIFT-R does it on desktop. On mobile, you just have to sign out and sign back in again.

      CTRL-SHIFT-R

This worked for me, fixed it immediately.

So, using the website from mobile here.

I’m logged in but when i actually open a thread, I’m not logged in anymore.

If i go back to the thread list, I’m logged in.

Also, pagination simply load the same threads over and over.

Is it a known issue? Have i been cursed? So i deserve it for wasting so much time when on my porcelain throne?

I’m getting logged out nearly every time that I click a link or even return to a previous page. It’s making lemmy nearly unusable.

I spent 15 minutes trying to post something about it but couldn’t maintain a login.

I’m getting logged out every few minutes on desktop. It is a pain in the ass!

I’ve noticed this as well… Whenever I’m clicking Ctrl + f5 I’m getting cycled between logged in and out. I’ve also noticed at least once that another nickname appaeard in the top right of the screen, that was kinda worrisome.

I’ve had to relogin to Memmy twice so far this evening. I’m guessing it’s related to recovery from the incident earlier today but it’s certainly annoying. Hopefully it gets remedied soon.

Try reinstalling the app if it keeps happening

I spoke too soon, I was silently logged out again after a few hours. It may be an issue with Memmy, but it doesn’t seem to happen with my other account so not sure.

Something about clearing your cookies, but that was supposed to be able to log on at all. But you can try anyway.

I cleared cookies and it still happened. After activating 2FA it stopped to log me out.

Thank you! Activating 2FA helped allready. I think there’s a backdoor but I’m not a high value target, so…

    What hardware are you using?

Hardware? It’s an iPhone SE 2020, but wouldn’t software be the relevant part in cases like this (?)

Yeah software too, I’m asking because I was having issues with this with a MacBook Pro and Safari, cleaning cookies and opening a new lemmy.world tab fixed this.

I’m on Safari with the latest iOS but clearing cookies and closing tabs didn’t really help so far.
