Can’t wait for yet another presentation that is nothing but “we are doing AI too”

We do have a new beta version of mission critical software that is nowhere near offering the functionality of its current version, and we’re hoping you can beta test it for us.

We are also announcing new ways we’ll restrict your usage of your software and hardware and some new ways we can reduce your privacy and increase our advertising.

After a short coffee break we’ll talk about a new AI mascot

How sad is it that the company that makes Windows has the most forgettable and disappointing hardware line-up?

I’m not surprised. It’s Microsoft. I’m just sad.

The Surface Pros pretty much revamped the entire 2-in-1 form factor and the Surface Book was a really cool neat little device even though it was ridiculously pricey.

There was a time where Microsoft made some pretty exciting and cool hardware. The Neo was a really neat concept but nothing that came out since they unveiled and cancelled that thing has been interesting.

It doesn’t help that they typically release with processors that aren’t always the latest. If I’m looking for a Surface Pro now, I’d honestly much rather get Asus’s Z13. I just wish that came with an AMD CPU instead.

I like my surface pro. It’s a pretty nice little device. I just wish they made it more repairable

If it wasn’t Microsoft, the Surface Studio is kind of intriguing. There aren’t really that many options that are that similar.

The advertisement for the Studio was insane!

Hasn’t been my experience and I use one pretty exclusively at my work. Had a surface pro 4 before the surface pro 7 and that was still working when I got upgraded to the 7 (mostly for better specs as some of the programs I need got updates that needed more processing power). I work in an industrial environment too so that thing goes through some rather extreme work areas. I have also personally owned the surface Go and it still works just fine.

Also a surface go 2 (and previously 1) owner and love it. Form factor is just right. If there are recommendations for other things of the same build quality but faster with better battery life I’m all ears. Don’t want to be gimped by an iOS tablet. Never had a problem with the hardware.

No issue with the hardware but they need to change to a better OS.

Isn’t that something you can just install yourself? I don’t own a surface, not sure how locked down it is and how “PC-like” it is in terms of architecture.

it was a bit of a joke but honestly I keep hoping MS will just not see the value in the os and convert completely to office and other software and their cloud offerings and such. unfortunately it looks like they want to make os a cloud service.

I feel sorry for anyone who had to sat through this event. It was the most boring and soulless presentation I have ever seen. It it the definition of “This could have just been an email”.

Oh good, guess I didn’t need that Mac I was going to buy.
