I didn’t really like BG3 but I bought it and I’m happy to have supported such a publisher.

I dropped gaming entirely for several years due to all the shitfuckery. These days I’m just way more selective about what games I will buy. No Denuvo, no bullshit microtransaction games, no 3rd party accounts, no third party launchers, no online only, no rushed and broken games on release, nothing from repeat offenders like EA, Blizzard, Activision, Ubisoft, etc. And I don’t buy from any stores other than Steam or GoG.

It’s nice to not be on the hype train for every major game release, because ultimately they will have the same shitfuckery shoed in, likely because of publishers. BG3 was a genuinely fun game and I’m glad Larian has done so well. You can really see a difference in games when it’s made from passion rather than the drive to make as much money as possible.

This is one thing I have noticed. Gamers salivate so heavily over every little thing and jump on the bandwagon in such numbers that developers don’t need to do too much to earn money. If people were more selective, the whole landscape would appear.

Yes, I am precisely the same. I get free games through Twitch that sometimes appear in one of those stores and I redeem them but refuse to actually install their launchers. Only GOG and Steam on my systems.

Yeah I’m getting really sick of SLAMMED and other clickbait nonsense appearing in headlines.
