It sounds like NBCUniversal News Group needs a new chairman. The explanation and justification for such a terrible hiring ought to have serious, long lasting consequences. There are blunders and then there are those who exchange freedom of the press for greed and grift. This should not be soon forgotten.

“I want to personally apologize to our team members who felt we let them down,” he said. “While this was a collective recommendation by some members of our leadership team, I approved it and take full responsibility for it.”

These statements always seem so facile when “taking responsibility” means no consequences apart from issuing an apology.

On top of that, you can see that even the part about taking full responsibility is cloaked in caveats and softening language.

“…our team members who felt we let them down…”

“While this was a collective recommendation…”

Saw no issue with it until public uproar… already shows the execs are completely detached from reality

    “But number go up?”

I think it was their attempt on “fair and balanced”. It is just how to balance if you have a third of population believing that Trump won?

Usually you have to forego “fair” if you want to be “balanced”. And vice-versa.

You can only have “both sides” to things that are based in reality, not bad faith. Hiring her to “balance” things was an impossibility, since she peddles in bad faith and conspiracy theories.

“Ranted” is an exaggeration as she was exceedingly professional, yet passionate and surprisingly candid. I never really cared about her either way until I listened to her podcast Bag Man. It is incredible. And true! Now I realize she’s completely awesome and have a whole new respect for her…

You mean the thing she famously does? I’m not a fan of hers, she’s a bit right wing for me, but her candor has always been very present.

What was her actual job going to be? Was she just going to be a talking head that would give “the other side.” AKA, lies about election fraud and whatnot.

These fucking ghouls should be tattooed with an ink that glows under black light. Humanity fails if they are ever able outrun the shame of what they’ve done.
