Yeah normally if a F1 Journalists hears about such an attempt he wouldnt care about it. But now they know that there is Chaos at RB which might make Newey more likely to jump ship, therefore they report on it.

There were rumors about Ferrari offering him a contract. Looking at his creative sideprojects, Aston and Ferrari seem to be the only realistic options he might consider.
Likely coming out because of the instability at Red Hat. Newey doesn’t limit himself to just designing the car, he has an opinion on the entire team. So if a different team is better structured or could be better structured than Red Bull I could see him switching. At least, that’s what I noticed from his book.
