Good catch! I’ll be sure to disable link previews for collapsed spoilers. Thanks for pointing that out!
I managed to fix this in comments, for now no previews will be loaded for links inside spoilers including image previews. In the future I’ll look into loading previews when spoilers are expanded.
I still need to apply this to posts as well.
Nice! The other thing I discovered thanks to this very post is a deleted comment seems to still display the picture it had. In the deleted comment below I had a screenshot then deleted it but now is shows “deleted by creator” with the picture underneath.
Hmm lemmy seems to handle deleted content in an odd way. I’ll look into this and prevent loading for deleted removed content. Just to note: this only seems to affect the owner of the content apparently. On my end, the image is not loaded, so this is either a caching issue, or a Lemmy API issue. Either way I will disable loading content like this.
