Cause if your parents wouldn’t buy you a full CD for $10 they might buy you a hit clip for $5. Also the adverts that targeted children

I always thought it was “Hip Clips” because you wore them on your hip. I was an idiot child.

I had Someday by Sugar Ray on Hit Clip and it actually sounded pretty good on the all-treble mini speaker.

I think I had NSYNC and Britney Spears, but I don’t remember which songs. I remember them being shortened clips because they couldn’t fit on the dumb little cartridges, lol.

Mini speaker gang! I had the single-headphone unit and hated it, and the mini speaker was actually pretty great!

…then my life changed when they released the FREE-ASS Cybiko MP3 player and I convinced my parents to get me a 80USD 32MB SmartMedia Memory CardTM. That thing held like six or seven FULL songs from Napster!

My kids recently found one of these in an old box of toys at my mother’s house. To my surprise the thing still works. Old batteries and everything.

Now they run around singing shot snippets of Britney Spears and NSYNC songs…

We were just talking about these at work yesterday and now you post them here today. What are you, my phone’s microphone spying on me?
