With Hendo on the way out, and Milly already gone, who would you choose to be Liverpool’s new captain?
Some would argue Big Virg should be the automatic pick due to experience etc. but I think it should be Trent’s time!
After the last season I would say neither of those. I would go with robbo.
Not sure about Robbo. I know he’s the Scotland captain, but he always seems a bit like the class clown, and although he is funny, I don’t think that translates to captain material.
Alisson could be an option.
VVD does seem like the obvious choice but his manner on the pitch isn’t really what we need.
That said I’m sure there’s an existing pecking order that will settle things, at least at the start of the season.
I’ve personally never liked goalkeepers as captains as they’re not in the game like the other 10 players.
I feel VVD starting to believe his own hype too much. Maybe the injury, wanting to be at world cup also, but he was hardly ever dribbled past before last season. I’d go with Trent, long runway and could drive him to the next level.
Agree it could be a good time for Trent to shine. If it’s VVD, I’d expect it is Trent as vice. I don’t think it’s a good idea, but I can imagine Salah would like one of those roles.
I think Salah should be 3rd, after Trent and VVD.
VVD seems most likely to be named and would be my choice. TAA does not need anymore pressure put on him now.
