You used the correct spray. I can’t ID the species but knowing the approximate location would help narrow it down.
Michigan, specifically southwest.

Where I’m from roaches are at least 1 inch long, usually more!
I’ve been down south and seen some before that I mistook for mice. I almost died on the spot.
