So yeah, this actually happened to me. I have still to continue on this save file.
I always end up making forts in places nobody can path to, so I only get the first couple immigrant waves that are guaranteed. :(
What the game needs are aphrodisiacs to force love making so births aren’t just totally random and rare. Every other game like this has some method of increasing your numbers at will. DF’s natural birth system is way, way too slow.
Do you think dorfs are just out there laying pipe all the time? Who has time for that? Look at the daily schedule of a dorf.
Wake up, drink beer, pet cat, drink beer, mine, drink beer, move rubble, drink beer, pet cat, wait, where’s the cat? RAGE, drink beer, sleep.
Where in all that busy schedule do you expect a couple of dorfs to find time to make love? For crying out loud, they spend any free time they have trying to figure out if that’s a lady dorf under all that chainmail and beard. Besides, everyone knows children attract vampires
They don’t even need to have sex! They can impregnate each other telepathically! lol
Lol yeah, when they’re close enough to each other and not busy working they release spores
And deprive dwarven kids of a childhood?

Good luck! I’ve been currently puttering around in adventure mode, losing all the geese I being with me to cause mayhem. The mayhem was short lived.
Nice. I’ve never played DF but I’ve got a good thousand hours in Rimworld (rookie here obvs). I’m thinking when I get home from work it’s time to update the modlist and waste all of my free time for the next month.
