I often go kayaking alone when camping, This lake had a really nice shallow area created by a huge beaver dam with lots of birds, plants, frogs etc. So I managed to convince my son and wife that we should rent a canoe so I could take them there. They agreed out of being nice to me. The Heron was not pink but it did fly majestically over our heads, and gave them a few seconds of respite from me explaining how the whole lake was created by many generation of beavers while pointing to every clues of their gnawing presence.
