    So these numbers don’t add up, are they adding marketing to the costs column when calculating the losses?

        Having these three figures presented as the summary invites that kind of equation. After all:

        net income = revenue - expenses
        

        But it looks like its a bit more complex, taking The Marvels as an example the $206.1m box office really converts to only $88m theatrical revenue for the studio. Then:

        revenue = (theatrical + home entertainment + television and streaming)
        218m    = (88m + 40m + 90m)
        
        expenses = (production costs + prints and ads + residuals and other distribution expenses + interest and overhead + participation)
        455m     = (270m + 110m + 21m + 54m + 0m)
        
        net income = revenue - expenses
        -237m      = 218m - 455m

      Out of the 5 movies on this list, The Flash was the one I enjoyed the most (I didn’t see Dial of Destiny or Haunted Mansion).

    I can’t stand the Justice League movies or Bats v Supes, but somehow I enjoyed the Flash (for the most part).

    Or maybe I was just drunk enough to like it. Idk
