Most likely explanation is someone tried to rob his house. Not that assasins were sent after Drake days after Kendrick already lyrically murdered him.
Kendrick is trying to ruin the game that matters most to Drake, turn him into a punchline like R Kelly. Not murder him for being a faker.

Everyone knows where Drake lives in Toronto it’s no secret. He raps about it and named songs after the street so at worst he doxxed himself. He posts videos of his property from time to time. Etc
I doubt it would lead to anything legally. A similar thing happened with Sarah Palin and Gabby Giffords. Palin’s campaign sent out fliers with crosshairs over certain districts held by Democrats that Republicans wanted to win. One of these was targeted at Gabby Gifford’s district and shortly after, someone shot her in the head. Nothing happened to Palin over it.
