I never knew tomatoes could look like this!

Is there a shot of the inside?

If this one had grown in a spot more exposed to the sun, it would have been fully black!

I haven’t sliced this one up yet, but here’s a picture of a variety of halved tomatoes, with a darker Black Beauty at the top:

I grew black cherry Tom’s a few years back… they were a bit too mealy for me.

    How are these?

I actually haven’t sliced this guy open yet, but I don’t remember them being particularly mealy in previous years.

Now that I think about it…. It may have been black Krim that I thought was mealy.

Cool tomato. Do you grow other odd varieties? Does the color affect the taste?

Have a look at some of my other /c/tomatoes posts, I’ve been sharing pictures of some of the other ~45 varieties of heirloom and hybrid tomatoes I’ve grown.

I don’t know if color directly influences the taste, I’ve seen sour, savory and sweet come in all colors, but maybe with the exception of yellow tomatoes. I’ve never had a yellow tomato that wasn’t on the sweeter side.

Hah! Denethor would be interested in a cherry variety, and I know some awful sour ones that he’d deserve.
