Yeah, I doubt the “live for free in the metaverse” part. If there even will be a real usable metaverse, it won’t be free.

We currently have more than enough production and “wealth” for the entire planet to be a “post scarcity society”. The only problem that remains is that we don’t treat the people that hoard wealth the same way we treat the people that hoard cats or newspaper.

That sounds different but equally fucked up. BNPL companies are really pieces of shit btw, having dealt with them on the other side of the curtain.

Reminds me of the hamburger guy from the old popeye cartoons.

“I’ll gladly pay you next Thursday for a hamburger today”

Don’t know what the surprise is now in my country we have local financing for rent in quotes! Can’t pay your rent? Don’t worry, get more debt!

Is it just me, or is Dominos not only ridiculously expensive, but also not even that good?

It is expensive if you do not use the coupons that are available 100% of the time. With coupons you can get 3 pizzas for like $20. Otherwise it is like $25 for one crappy pizza.

Like with most big chains, the appeal is not so much quality but consistency. You know no matter where you are when you order a domino’s pizza you’ll get the same thing you would at your local one.

Also I’ve heard domino’s is worse in the US than other places.

It’s pretty rubbish in many other countries as well. Consistent in that regard, too!

Chances are everyone has a local pizza place that does better and cheaper pizza than Dominos.

Just brand recognition and the fact that you know what you’re getting, I suppose. Plus they’ve always got offers on to reduce the frankly eye-watering default prices.

Costco pizza is great for the price (like £7.99 for an 18" pizza), but they only do three varieties and one of them is just cheese. We’re not Kevin from Home Alone. And just getting one is an arduous trek.

Why would I finance a pizza from Dominos when there are plenty of local places that will let me finance a pizza at a lower APR?

Is the “finance a Domino’s pizza” real, or a meme?

Not sure, but I know its possible to finance groceries on Instacart

It’s a meme. It might be a real ad saying that you can pay for products in different “slices” with a Dominos logo slapped on, but I doubt it.

This is however happening with other goods that are way too cheap to need to be financed. Closest example I could find

I means it’s really not that different to paying for a pizza on a credit card

You don’t “Google” something… that’s not a real word in that context. Do you “Ask” someone when searching?
