She’s been stealing your jokes for years to fuel her evening stand up career!

If I had a therapist and they started doing that I’d start fearing that they are going to call the police later to take me and put me in a mental institution

If you need to use parentheses to explain the joke, you failed at telling the joke.

The whole point with these sorts of memes is they’re supposed to be relatable enough and easy enough to grasp with the added context of the image.

Imagine missing the joke so bad that you try to explain how they failed to tell a joke 🤦‍♂️

To add to your point. It also, in this case, subverted my expectations of what the joke was going to be. As the standard one just implies the therapist is taking notes because you’ve done something weird. The expectation is subverted, as the therapist is just stealing the joke instead. Subverted expectations are often a key part of humour.

Yeah, it’s not really explaining the joke here, but rather the actual punchline.

Wait im getting lost. Are you trolling or did you really miss the joke so bad? The part in parentheses is a part of the meme.

I don’t think you should call people acoustic (It’s a placeholder word for a more offensive word, giving it the same original meaning).
