I’ve never heard a June Bug make noise. Maybe you’re thinking of cicadas?

In Australia we call them Christmas beetles.

I was walking my dog around the yard last night. We don’t have any lights in the backyard so I always go out with a flashlight. Pointing it at the ground, I could see them emerging by the dozens.

So anyway, the flashlight gets put up for a few weeks.

I effing hate these things. Without fail, they will fly directly at your head and crash into you with such jarring force. Usually with zero notice, and almost exclusively directly into your ear, eliciting maximum terror and sphincter pucker. They’re the WORST.
