A huge fucking win. If you look at the Akwesasne reservation you’ll see much better health outcomes than other US tribes - tribes simply don’t have the funds to access the main US Healthcare system independent of individual enrollment without relying on casinos (and that’s a complex topic I’d just like to sidestep). However, due to rolling a nat 20 on historical flukes the Akwesasne reservation actually straddles the US Canadian borders and all tribal members are assumed residents of both nations (outside of weird circumstances).
As a result they’ve had access to Canadian health services during emergencies and as such get preventative care much more often. I look forward to better health outcomes for all native peoples!
Well that’s a surprising ruling from this court. I guess they gotta get a couple things on the right track to make it look legitimate.
The court has actually sided with Native Americans time and time again. Iirc Gorsuch in particular is staunch in his belief that the US needs to honor tribal treaties
Well, a broken clock is right twice a day lmal
Does he really?
Going on memory here but yeah, I’m pretty sure

Thanks for this!
Not really, they just ruled they can’t use any of the water in the Colorado river even though it borders their reservation.
This court ruled that way?
