Rachel Maddow reports on a letter signed by 19 Republican state attorneys general objecting to a proposed HHS rule that would protect the privacy of residents of their states seeking reproductive healthcare in other states with greater reproductive freedom, and possibly threaten the ability of Republicans to target Americans seeking out-of-state trans healthcare.
Typical GOP hypocrisy: they want states’ rights for their states to support and advance bigotry, voter suppression and other heinous bullshit, but not for other states to respect a woman’s bodily autonomy 🤦
States Rights had always been a smoke screen.
Even during the Civil War Southern States were trying to implement laws that gave them power over other states to give slaves.
States Rights had always been right wing propaganda designed to hide their true motive. Same a “protect the children.” Same as a racist hiding behind “free speech.”
This is sickening and extremely scary. The GOP at this point are authoritarian, not to say fascist. They hide behind states rights as an argument to defend states they control, but the moment they gain the levers of power you can bet they will do everything to crush the states run by democrats.

And every single one of them would either retract their signature the moment someone out of state used their medical history against them, in the same way they want to use it against others, or double down on how only they should be able to use it themselves.

Why these people care SO MUCH about this?
It’s illogical at this point.
Because Religion (as much these people proclaim how much they have love for everyone) is more about hating out groups and judging other people as less than worthy.
Not hate so pure as Christian “love”.
