Hey guys. I harvested and dried and everything seemed fine, but while I was snipping the lady up for curing I discovered these white fibre like looking things. Now I’m worried if it’s mold. It smells normal. It’s only on 1 or 2 buds.

Related mold question: if I leave it for a few weeks and the it doesn’t change significantly, can I be somewhat sure it’s not mold? Because mold would spread?

Thanks a lot!

It don’t look like mold, and I’m not saying it is or isn’t.

BUT, there is many different type of trichomes actually, some do look like stringy/webby. Google can be your friend here use “different trichomes” as a stepping off point.

The other Q though would be do you have pets or work around them? Could be pet hair getting in the goods.

Thanks. It’s not pet hair. I guess some kind of pests. It’s definitely not trichomes.

Just curious, why are you adamant they aren’t trichomes?

there are three kinds of trichomes in cannabis plants that I know of and they all look like trichomes whereas this here ist just long fibres of something without any visible liquid or other features. They’re only on 2 buds of the entire plant. It’s so clearly not trichomes. No need to downvote my first comment. I appreciate your help.

Umm… maybe that’s why I said there is many different kinds of trichomes and do some research…?

Not all trichomes have bulbous heads, some look like webbing, and mutations can happen randomly on plants.

That almost looks closer to hair or string than anything. Does that give any ideas?

Wow that looks really similar. And I have a small plant of something similar but that doesn’t produce enough of that stuff. But thanks for the guess!

Oh I didn’t notice the sub we were in, mites? They leave webs around and dry up well as long as not too many.
