    Not good.

    The article specifically mentions coal and gas, which are definitely massive contributors to the problem. The faster we can switch to renewable energy sources (that is, those sources that don’t rely on dead plant and animal matter from periods such as the Carboniferous or the Permian) the better.

    Using the US as a reference, some things that are being done to mitigate climate change:

    Some things that still need to be done:

    • Make the switch from gas vehicles to electric (using standardized parts)
    • Invest in car charging infrastructure.
    • Invest in efficient and recyclable batteries
    • Walkable Cities with good Public Transit.(Let’s try the real Garden City, not the bastardized car version).
    • Build high-speed rail infrastructure. Planes make sense for long distances, but high-speed rail can definitely pick up the slack for mid-range travel and reduce emissions.

    There are other things we need to watch out for, such as the aftermath of the Supreme Courts Chevron decision. We will probably need to pass legislation to solve that problem.
