I mean, it’s not too much of a stretch! Balancing your inputs and outputs.

There’s also exposure/interfacing with piping design, which you’ll feel right at home in if you enjoy good factorio belt routing

I highly recommend considering process eng or piping design to anyone who likes factorio

Well, i once played factorio, downloaded pyanodon’s mod. It quickly became so complex i figured you need degree in chemical engineering to complete it. Am now studying chemical engineering

Studying will probably help you finish the mod faster. 450hrs into THAT mod alone. I’d be finished by now, but these bottlenecks need fixing first!

As a modern software engineer, I believe the second panel is also sufficient to explain my job to congress.

Stuff goes in. Stuff goes out. You can’t explain that!

I’ve always struggled to succinctly describe my job to people outside of it, it’s muddy because I often fill gaps and there’s often a lack of clear r&r, I’m on paper a Data Engineer & Architect, I just say I design and build backend stuff and handle infrastructure.

Had the same issue when I did Equipment Reliability Engineering, technical roles are often really hard to explain to people I’ve found.

Also a process engineer. Real answer is “I develop procedures for cleaning contamination critical hardware”. My flippant answer is “I tell other people how to do their jobs”.

So you’re the moron that designed my CIP system with only caustic and no acid, meaning I have mineral scale everywhere and no way to get rid of it. Thanks asshole.

I still haven’t found a quick way to explain my job. The best I’ve got is my job title and, “Basically lots of data to make sure I have the right people in the right place at the right time and they’re happy.”

But I’m sure that’s not at all clear for most of you.
