This was a hilarious episode and I cannot express the joy I’m feeling that the adaptation is finally out… almost.

This could have been a 10 but the unnecessary fan service annoys me 😩

I don’t dislike fan service inherently but it just feels out of place in RoshiDere. It’s not like the manga doesn’t have any but it’s annoyingly pronounced in the anime.

Some of the camera angles in this show make me want to drop kick someone. It’s not supposed to be an ecchi show. What the hell…?!

You fucker lmfao well played. But there was an upskirt shot of Alya that honestly ticked me off. That’s not how this series works.

Curiosity got the better of me and I went fishing for this sequence in the manga to see if they were using that as inspiration instead of the LNs. There is definitely some fan service in the manga, but it was cranked up for the anime for sure. Here is probably the most risque page showing Alya’s final outfit that Suou teases her about.

As an aside, that sequence is already in volume 3 of the manga. Things have to be out of order between the two adaptations or cut, right? Or did we actually cover that much ground in just two episodes?

I think the manga adaptation may have been butchered. Or…so goes my guess. It seems pretty on point with the light novels.

I didn’t see the Suou = sister thing coming. Are they twins? just very close in age? I assume they aren’t step-siblings since it said that they she is his actual sister. Also, why keep that a secret from everybody at school? How can you keep that a secret from everybody? Why have different names? I am hoping we get some more explanation about it going forward. In the meantime, Suou has some of the best smug faces around:

Over on the Alya side of things, she got some clothes shopping time with her crush. I can sympathize with MC that trying to come up with feedback for my wife when she is trying on clothes always feels weird. Like, I love my wife, but I just don’t really care about clothes that much. So, it’s hard to give good feedback.

In any case, it feels like we are going to get some more backstory about our MC’s history with the student council going forward. There was a quick flashback this episode, but there is obviously more there to uncover. Hopefully Alya can convince him to run with her. She is throwing herself at him, he just doesn’t know (she thinks)…

      Roshidere light novel

So the story between Suou and Kujou…they are actual siblings, but when their parents divorced, Suou went to live with their mother, and Kujou with their father. Of course, they took the corresponding parents’ last names, as well. (Joint custody in Japan really isn’t a thing, unfortunately.)

Thanks! This makes more sense now. Also, from fishing around in the manga to compare some panels against the show, I ran across this explanation earlier than where we are in the show. So, I assume the explanation was moved to be revealed later.

      According to the manga adaptation

Blood siblings born less than one year apart, which is why they are in the same school year. Their last names are different because their parents divorced and one went to live with the father and the other with the mother.

Keeping this a secret is due to some kind of family issue, but I don’t think it’s been properly explained in the manga yet.

I absolutely called Suou being his sister last episode when they were texting, but I think I may have trusted too much in their dynamic staying wholesome and familial. Some of her incest jokes were a little too much for me (and, thankfully, it seems that Kuze feels the same). Aside from those moments, though, I’m really enjoying the dynamic they’re setting up between the three of them, since it often feels like Suou is having fun bullying her big brother (as is her right) while also encouraging the two of them to be more honest in her own weird way. I don’t really understand why he can’t just tell Alya that they’re not dating and they’re just siblings, since that would clear up a lot of this mess, but maybe we’ll get that answer eventually.

Also, and this is a small thing, GIVE ME THE HELL RAMEN, PLEASE. I WANT IT, IT LOOKS SO GOOD.
