The Academy Award-winning actor and longtime Democrat is joining a growing list of celebrities begging the president to bow out of the race

Turns out George Clooney has more backbone than 90% of the Democratic party.

This is getting into the Emperor has no clothes territory.

These people coming forward signals that this is what the donors want. It could be quite brilliant if they drag this out up to the convention, then declare Kamala Harris as the nominee. It keeps the media away from Trump and on the Democrats, and will be energizing to voters when she gets the nomination.

It shouldn’t go to the convention, but I think an announcement smack dab in the middle of the Republican convention would be great.

Also, you’ve got 2-3 big news days in a switch. And since whoever the replacement will be won’t be on death’s door, the VP announcement can be timed for political benefit.

            1. Biden backs out of the race
            2. Replacement is named (might be merged with #1 if Harris is installed by Biden)
            3. VP is named

Hell, have a debate for VP during the convention, addressing progressive issues that you have no intention of doing to increase voter support, and have the delegates vote on the VP. They’re so focused on decorum that it stifles enthusiasm.

Trump is only 4 years younger than Biden. And way more mentally unstable.

They’re both too fuckin old for the job, but I don’t see the Democrats replacing Biden and rebuilding their political race in 4 months. I also don’t see Trump stepping down any time soon, so as much as it sucks, these are the choices.

If that’s your stance then you need to be 100% prepared for four more years of Donald Trump, and Republicans controlling all three branches of government indefinitely.

Why? The convention is a month away. They could slow roll that Biden is considering stepping down, turn it into a media frenzy, starving Trump of attention. Then, a week before the convention Biden could announce that Kamala Harris is taking over the nomination. The convention could be a rallying point to solidify the nomination. Donors and delegates enthusiastically give their support.

Kamala may not be the best candidate, but she will make Trump look weak. A black woman would drive Trump insane, exposing how vile he is.

      It could happen.

No it could not. Swing voters are not voting for Kamala Harris. In a country where you start campaigning 2 years out for president 4 months is not enough.

Biden has won the primaries, he’s not stepping down. This is what America wanted. We have to deal with it

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The actor added that while the process of selecting a new nominee might be “messy” it would “enliven our party and wake up voters who, long before the June debate, had already checked out.”

While the event raised $30 million for the Biden-Harris campaign, many attendees left with the impression that Biden was in decline — a reality that only became more stark on debate night.

The hosts pointed out that recent incidents like the fundraiser and the debate had fundamentally changed the calculus of Biden’s nomination, a sentiment that Clooney echoed in his piece for the Times.

Actor and director Rob Reiner wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that “It’s time to stop fucking around/ If the Convicted Felon wins, we lose our Democracy.

Earlier this week, author and longtime Democrat Stephen King wrote on X that “Joe Biden has been a fine president, but it’s time for him—in the interests of the America he so clearly loves—to announce he will not run for re-election.”

Oscar-winning film director Michael Moore accused those advising the president to stay in the race of “elder abuse,” during Monday’s episode of his Rumble podcast.
