The newly released RNC platform calls for a return to “same day voting,” which would mean an end to early voting in the 47 states where people can cast ballots before Election Day. If Trump and his allies regain power, they’ll turn his Big Lie into policies that will lead to the biggest rollback of ballot access in decades.
Everyone voting on the same day makes it much easier to intimidate people we don’t like into staying home.
It also makes the existing voter suppression much more effective.

Yes, it is illegal for anyone to bring you water, we don’t want them to influence your vote, do we?"
It’s always struck me that people in jobs that treat them like chattel don’t get time off to vote, or even enough time off in general - those folks have a higher barrier to voting.
Another hidden thumb on the scale to skew poll results toward retirees and the folks who are more well off.
God it would be great if they had to give positive justifications for the bills they’re trying to pass. There is no fucking reason whatsoever to try and pass this bill except to get people to stop voting and that is completely unamerican. Even suggesting such a stupid fucking idea should get them removed from office since they’re clearly trying to destroy the system for their own benefit.
Knowing them they’d just give bullshit lies for justifying their shit ideas like “this will stop voter fraud” which doesn’t fucking happen yet their lying propaganda stations keep pushing that lie.
