Heya together. I was fancing the official Xbox Starfield controller but I’m so used to paddles, that I can’t play with a regular controller anymore. I then stumbled upon a shell for the Elite V2 Controller. I walked the extra mile and replaced the thumbstick base for a red one and I also ordered two sets of paddles and circle pads. I’m still on the hunt for opaque trigger.

How do you like the result and what version do you prefer, the burnt metal one or the brass/ gold one?

Any advice for further improvements? I know, the backside should be red but I can’t find a matching one.

Man, that looks awesome. Personally I like the gold version, the d-pad looks like the mirror for a space telescope or a solar sail or something:

    Very appropriate!

Thanks for the reply. Oh, you’re right. The official one has a gold D-Pad so i was trying to achieve the same aesthetic. But the reference to a solar sail is on point. Right now I’m switching on a day by day basis. Depending on my mood.

The James Webb telescope is truly iconic in its design. I also like the gold, but I think if it was a mirror-like finish it would look a lot better. Personally when I first saw the gold I thought of Cassini, which was coated in gold colored foil.

Mirrors like would be dope. Unfortunately this one was the only „gold“ one I could find. And it’s very responsive to fingerprints. Maybe I can find a proper polished one, that would be awesome.

I appreciate your comment. Seems we get a slight trend in here. I like, that the burnt one kind of reflects the rainbow colors, painted on top of the controller and on some pieces of game art.

But the Solar Sail gold one is hard to beat now.
