Democratic Party. Don’t let Trump’s language become the vernacular.

As a queer who’s mentioned Obamacare, let them win that battle. They do it because it obviously still bothers people.

the language precedes his political presence by decades. also the democratic party can fuck off, their incompetence is the reason we’re in this mess; why are you trying to protect their dignity?

The colored top is Tanya Harding, and the white leotard is Nancy Kerrigan. They were both Olympic-level ice skaters back in the early 90’s. The media had portrayed them as bitter rivals, because they were both pushing for the top spot. Kerrigan was the favorite to win. To make a modern reference, they were akin to Simone Biles in terms of popularity.

Harding and her family coordinated an attack on Kerrigan, to knock her out of the running and secure Harding’s place on top. They caught Kerrigan backstage, and beat her legs with a pipe to ensure she wouldn’t be able to compete. This happened in the ice skating arena during a competition, so Kerrigan was quickly found. The resulting footage of Kerrigan screaming and crying on the side of the skating rink with visibly beaten legs shocked the country.

This was a photo taken just before the attack, with Harding looking at Kerrigan with contempt, in anticipation of the attack. The meme is joking that the democrat party is going to try and kneecap Joe Biden.

Don’t remember their names but the one in white was the best skater and the one in colors (second best) had someone break her leg so she could be first.

I think there is this Academy Award nominated documentary called “I, Tonya” (or “It’s Hardin’ Time”) that you can buy to find out what happened.

Although, I have to say, she looks better in the film than in this photo for some reason.

The DNC scheduled a virtual nomination vote weeks before the Convention a couple months back. At the time it was because Ohio requires the candidate to be nominated before August 7th in order to appear on the ballot; now, it’s that and a convenient way to end the discussion of not running Biden as the candidate.

There won’t be a brokered convention because the Convention is just a show this year.

I wish, but the assassination attempt will keep quiet the calls for Biden to drop out for a few weeks, and by then it will be too late to get anyone else in before the convention. Biden will have successfully run out the clock on this. He’ll have a few more senior moments that alarm people, probably get his ass handed to him again in the second debate, and that will he that. Trump voters will be energized by the assassination attempt, Democrats will be demotivated by an old, out of touch candidate, and American democracy will end.

Sorry for the doomerism. You should still vote, and do everything you can to avert this, but I’m pretty sure this is how it’s going to shake out.

Would be nice, but it’s looking less and less likely that anything can be done. Best to start preparing for a Trump presidency.

The reason why I don’t know which one she is is due to me only watching the movie (I’m in my early 20s).

Really good movie. Somehow only a $10 million budget.
