Tried to sign up many times. I get sent a verification code (sometimes). Paste/type it in and it always says it’s incorrect. So frustrating, as I’d like to create some generators (and have them actually save).

Can anyone help me? Or point me to how to contact the right people about this?

I’ve just tested with temp-mail email address and it works fine for me, so I suspect what’s happening here is you’re accidentally using a code from a previous verification email, since the code changes if you send a second request. BUT I’ve just made a change so it caches the code for several hours, meaning that now it’ll send the same code to you even if you send multiple requests. So this should solve future instances of this problem.

Please give it another go, making sure to use the code from the most recently received email (maybe delete all the old emails to reduce confusion, since if your email app puts them all into a thread it might be confusing, especially if it tries to do automatic “quote” stuff of previous emails in the thread), and let me know if you still have issues. And if that did indeed solve it, thanks for reporting your troubles! The above-mentioned change will make it easier for others in the future.

Okay, I just tried again, and it worked! Thanks so much!

Interestingly though, I saw an email from hours back… that (presumably) came from my attempt last night–around 7 hours before! This code was shorter too. But I tried signing up, it asked for a code, and I put that one in–and it worked, so that’s great!

Does it just take a really long time for the email to come through, perhaps? I knew that it could be the case that I could be using an email from a later attempt. But I was waiting at least an hour, constantly checking my emails with nothing showing up, before I decided the email wasn’t coming for whatever reason, and I tried signing up again.

The idea that it would take so long for a verification code to come through is just a bit wild, to me–considering it’s time sensitive. If the page times out, or suspends or whatever… or I just have to go do something else, then that sign-up and code would be wasted. The fact it’s not got a link to go and verify and be able to put the code in means that I can’t just do it later–I have to keep that page open and working until that code for that sign-up attempt comes through, and immediately use it before it decides that code is no longer valid. See what I mean?

But supporting the idea that emails aren’t coming through… I’ve now got 6 perchance verification code emails and I’ve definitely tried to sign up more like 10+ times. So that’s interesting…

Anyway… I appreciate your time, and thanks for putting in that feature and getting me up and running :D

Hmm weird - it comes through immediately for me. I wonder if there this was a temporary problem with the email sending service I used. Someone commented on reddit that they were having trouble yesterday I think - was that you too? If not, it might have been a temporary problem that multiple people were experiencing.

I did speak about it on Reddit too, though just in a comment. Yeah, hopefully temporary.
