Because there is some confusion in the comments here, I hunted down the written portion from the magazine from the source mentioned in the link:

Pikmin 4 9998

  • Dandori, which is the charm of the series, has been sublimated into play
  • The quality and quantity of what you can do has been improved, but it has become easier to play
  • Exploration is rich in variety and you won’t get tired of it

The 9998 refers to the 4 scores in the title of this post. I cannot verify the accuracy of this translation or verify that it was correctly transposed from the print magazine. This was translated using Google translate by me.

If the community wants or doesn’t care for Famitsu reviews, please let me know on the comments.

Is this an announcement for a review? I see no actual content.

Famitsu is a Japanese video game print magazine. Their scores are usually reported online as Famitsu is a notoriously hard reviewer. Totk got a perfect Famitsu score (40/40) which is super rare for them.

It’s more of a litmus test and marker of a good game. If Famitsu rates it good, you can probably trust that it is good. As for a written review, I believe you’d have to buy the magazine, translate it, and upload it yourself. They don’t appear on the Famitsu website as far as I can tell. I may be wrong here though.

I’d argue that Famitsu used to be a notoriously hard reviewer… but with the online age that reputation has more or less dissolved. Perfect scores are significantly more common than they used to be.

Looks that way… without a translation, it might make more sense to compile in a review score megathread or something

I have the open critic page pinned in the community. It has all the reviews and snips of their written reviews compiled already. I posted Famitsu separately, since a lot of people give them a lot of trust

I updated the post body with the translated review that was linked in the original post. It isn’t much, but it’s there now if you want to read it.
