For me it feels like a much smaller update, which has been rumoured for awhile. Sort of like iOS 11 or OS X Snow Leopard.

It’s been running very well for me so far, even macOS Sonoma, even though macOS betas are notorious for breaking things and causing fires, this one has worked perfectly for me so far.

iOS 17 has ran very well too, with the exception of a few of the new features causing the occasional respring but nothing major. Battery life has been fine and my phone is cool so that’s got to count for something right? From a core functionality perspective I’d say that it’s very stable, maybe even more so than 16.5? I did get some weird resprings on 16.5 towards the end which I haven’t had on stable for a long time.

Curious to hear your thoughts on it.

Out of all the beta’s I never really had a problem with battery life, but with iOS 17, I noticably do. Keyboard jumping around from time to time and minor UI glitches, but nothing big. Overall, pretty good experience. Looking forward to trying NameDrop in the future betas. Btw, anyone know if the new voicemail function is US only, haven’t been able to use it.

I’ve been having a similar experience. Other than some issues editing photos in the photo app it’s been pretty stable and almost seems like a 16.x update.

The photo editing interface has received a bit of a refresh. It feels to me like most of the development effort went into stabilising the OS and we’ll be seeing the new features worked on throughout the beta.

Everything’s fine on my 14 pro max. Also running betas on watch, iPad and Mac and so far so good.

It’s good. Battery is decent most days. Bugs are very minimal besides one. The keyboard is kind of busted in most apps, especially telegram. It will cover the ui so you can’t see what you are typing plus it covers the send button

I am running it on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I’ve had a few small issues. I also updated to the Apple TV beta and it’s giving me some problems with some HomeKit devices (Hue in particular) so that has been mildly frustrating. Just forced me to make some better scenes and has me exploring some other automation options like NFC tags with Shortcuts, so maybe it will be a net gain. All in all, I agree that iOS 17 seems more of a refinement with a few cool new features. I really like the update of “Siri” vs “Hey Siri”. The messages interface is good although idk that it is as straight forward as the previous interface and may cause some headache for less savvy users. The new voicemail function is cool. I’ve had a few issues with AirPod functionality when using Siri while listening to podcasts or music. All in all, I like the iOS and have been impressed with its performance as a beta.

Things have been running well for me. Only weird bug is that my contacts that do not have iPhones receive my text messages but my phone says they were not delivered.

I’ve had a smooth experience, too! Very minor issues. The feature I’m most excited for, the always on display showing widgets is really cool, but I only get about 10% of its usefulness since I’m using a 12 pro max.

edit to say I haven’t had any resprings at all. It’s been all good.

Running iOS 17 on a 12 Pro Max and have seen a few issues with randomly sending SMS messages in iMessage private messages, keyboard getting stuck/undocked from app bar, and keyboard refusing to minimize on scrolling and swiping.

Really liking some of the new features of stickers and the horizontal lock screen view

It does seem quite stable at this stage, but with a few of the previous betas, I’ve had a strange experience where the first beta seems stable and then subsequent betas are less stable, until close to the end of the beta cycle.

I agree that it seems like small enhancements, it I feel like they are good quality of life enhancements, for example, I’m loving standby mode, it’s something i immediately and intuitively used.
