Well, yeah. In healthy organizations, the old guard almost invariably makes way for the next gen

          How does

Message 1: it’s a good thing Biden stepped down, we need new leadership

Message 2: One candidate stepping down very often does not lead to a win for that side historically

          lead to

“The nazis stole as much material wealth from the Jews as possible”

lol I’m definitely not denying your comment, it’s valid and true, but I found it very odd as a take to what you responded to. Cheers!

That’s the post I found out he’s not literally named ‘Joe’. Would be even more embarassing if I was american, but still.

You’re shocked to find out Joe is short for Joseph? No surprise you’re embarrassed.

I knew that Joe could be short for Joseph, it just never occured to me that you guys would address the president of all people with a short form.

William Clinton was also typically referred to by the shortened version of his name.

I surrender, this time around I didn’t even know you could shorten William to Bill. Next up someone’s telling me Donald is short for Ottobertifurz - honoring his fake german roots.

For some reason, that generation very rarely use their actual name. I had an uncle whose real name I only found out at his funeral, he had gone by his middle name all his life.

There are people called Sam and not Samantha. There are Matts that aren’t Matthews. There are Joes that aren’t Joseph.

        Maybe don’t be a Richard?

Nicknames as legal names is one of my pet peeves, and I acknowledge that I have no right to have an opinion about someone’s name.

I worked with a guy whose legal name was Billy once. This was in the South, of course.

If his old age kills him like a week after the elections, I am probably going to laugh my ass off. Don’t get me wrong, that’s 100% irony and nothing else. Go enjoy some ice cream Uncle Joe. I’d say that I hope he can find some way to live with the Gazan genocide he’s helped prepare, but I mean come on.
