I do it too.
- What is this? Pardon, I don’t understand what this is a picture of - Here’s a clearer picture, hot off the press. - Huh, never seen these things implemented properly. Where I live, there’s always a patch of grass next to them, which everyone walks/bikes across. - Ha! I’ve seen some of those too but this one is done properly.

- Oh, sorry. I see them every day so I forget that others don’t have context. - It’s a set of bars designed to stop cars coming up a pedestrian lane and / or slow down bicycles at the intersection. There are two sets of bars so you have to sort of swerve through them. - Typically, as I am walking towards the sea in this picture, I grab the bars to swing right towards the town. I recently noticed that I’m not alone because one side (for folks turning right) is worn down by the friction of those hands grabbing to swing right. - Ahhh, totally see it now, thanks!
- worn down by the friction of those hands - Same thing happens to bronze statues, unoe? 😏

- Just a bunch of humans finding a way to carve a desire path into steel freakin’ bars
