I’m old enough to remember the damage caused to Bush Sr.'s reelection campaign in 1992 when Dan Quayle criticized the portrayal of a fictional single mother on the TV show “Murphy Brown.” JD Vance takes this line of attack on single and/or childless women to a whole new depth because he’s going after real people, not TV characters.
