As soon as I heard that Biden had passed the torch to Kamala I knew Maya Rudolph was going to have a banner year

Not as much of a gimme

Huh. I’m not American and not exactly well versed in pop culture; but when Kamala started making the news on TV, I told my partner, “wasn’t she in The Good Place?”

I feel so vindicated right now.

Genuinely hilarious! Maya Rudolph was so great in The Good Place, but most of them were. What a good show.

Yeah, but has Tyler Labine agreed to play JD Vance yet?

I’ll wildly recommend one of the latest Kill Tony episodes with a stunning performance of Trump by Shane Gillis, and Adam Ray as doctor ph Joe Biden. Absolutely hilarious 👌

I love Maya, but I thought she left SNL? I remember her hosting SNL as guest on last Mother Day.

I’d be okay if SNL never did political sketches again

Dude, they’ve been doing political sketches for close to 50 years now. Chevy Chase played Gerald Ford.

I get why they do them. They’re relevant and buzz worthy.

I do agree that they aren’t anywhere close to being top tier sketches.

Do you just not like them or did a political SNL sketch kill your family or something?

I auditioned as a writer for SNL this year (didnt get it). The workload and ambition is insane. it’s really easy to criticize until you have to produce even just the first drafts of a weekly packet, let alone redraft and get shooting script ready.

So much work goes into just filtering out inappropriate jokes from idiots who think they’re the next George Carlin.

Oh, I wasn’t saying it sucked. I just haven’t heard about it much lately and I remember it from the '90s, which was a long time ago.

It was on point and very popular during the Trump administration, especially during the early years. Melissa McCarthy did an excellent Sean Spicer. https://youtu.be/UWuc18xISwI
