    I do a schtick like this for a laugh when I’m with fuckcars-minded friends (I call the character car-brained Collin) and I don’t even take it as far as this guy.

      Satire is dead. Sometimes it feels like these people intentionally pick the worst stereotypes and go way beyond just to stick it to people. I legit can’t read satire no more, it’s tamer than reality. At this point, the only way to satirize these people is to depict em as blood thirsty monsters with rabies and that’s not fun, that’s just vile.

        Good satire usually has a tell. In person you can do that with tone and delivery, but writing is harder. A touch of absurdism or defamiliarization (where you present something common in an odd and different way) has almost become essential to pulling off satire over text these days.
