It does seem like a really bad plan to send your uncharismatic second string candidate around to follow the opposing presidential candidate. All it’s doing is just giving an unflattering comparison for their excitement and crowd sizes.

It’s going to get worse as well!

Very few people like to be associated with weird losers and the crowds will dwindle quite quickly.

I’m stunned. How is following them around supposed to work?! Emotionally, all I’m getting is that the GOP ticket is dragging ass behind and desperate.

I think if it was Trump there could be some sort of dueling rally vibes or even just muddling the narrative as the Democrats ride their momentum. But Trump is lazy and that’s a lot of work.

From another thread - think Trump is doing this so he can blame him for the drop.

The simple fact is, the reason the “weird” label is so effective is precisely because the 200 people the reporter described at the Vance rally are exactly the people that have been told all their life that being sexist, racist, violent assholes just makes them losers.

Trump and the MAGA movement has been their hope for redemption: that, in fact, they really are the bad-ass winners they all bitterly, deeply dreamed they were when they peaked in high school.

And now it’s hitting home that maybe everyone in their pathetic life has been right about them all along, orange Daddy isn’t going to redeem them, and all they’ll have left is their bitterness, loneliness, resentment, and rage.

Vance’s speech, on the other hand, wasn’t just underwhelming but a little uncanny. Despite using room dividers to shrink the space, the campaign could not hide that the crowd felt like a medium-sized wedding, albeit a pathetic one where no one cares for the couple. Vance, perhaps recognizing charisma isn’t his strong suit, spoke briefly before bringing up a series of local citizens ready to blame Mexicans for their familial tragedies of drug addiction. He spoke for a couple more minutes, before taking the reporters’ questions about cat ladies.

    Oof

It was a free concert. That is what Putin does to drum up support. A free concert, and pretend people are there for anything other than the music and musicians.
