\10 Katrina & the Waves, “Walking on Sunshine”
\9 Gloria Gaynor, “I Will Survive”
\8 Bon Jovi, “Livin’ on a Prayer”
\7 Cyndi Lauper, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”
          \6 The Monkees, “I’m a Believer”
\5 Survivor, “Eye of the Tiger”
          \4 Billy Joel, “Uptown Girl”
          \3 Beach Boys, “Good Vibrations”
          \2 ABBA, “Dancing Queen”

I wholeheartedly agree with that list, just singing the songs in my head as I read the list got me moving.

This is my thought EXACTLY. If a song was a hype man, this would be the ultimate hype man. It would get me to do anything…ANYTHING! (waitaminute)

(sorry to ruin the chain, but this is genuinely why Freddie’s solo career never really took off, because his hyperbolic vocals neatly complemented Brian May’s amazing guitar skills. Together they were amazing. With Queen they were gods. Alone, they were only great.)

(Freddie’s solo career was about him, not about Queen. He didn’t have to make hits with the band. I don’t know what your comment was referring to.)

(I’m saying that quoting Queen without the guitar solos gives Freddy too much credit, as shown by his somewhat tame solo career.)

It ain’t much I’m asking, if you want the truth,

Here’s to the future, hear the cry of youth,

I want it all, I want it all,

I want it all, and I want it now.

I went to Queen the Musical earlier this year, which was a Queen cover band. The guy who played Freddie was really almost as good as he was. What a pleasure that show was.

As an aside, if you’re an iOS user and use Siri, tell it “I see a little silhouette of a man”.

Siri recites the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody for that part of the song. But instead of saying “I’m just a poor boy” it says “I’m just a poor assistant”. And Siri does it in its normal deadpan emotionless voice.

Nah siri gets super mad and says some expletives.

It’s time for you to answer the big questions, Freddie. It’s time for you to look inward and answer, what do YOU want.
