    I used to have an illustration book that had the most amazing cutaway of a galleon. Every single cm of the page had intricate details of objects and people. You could see the Captain reading in his cabin and someone sneaking food to stowaways hiding at the bottom of the ship.

    I just bet these were dreadful in heavy following seas. All that wetted area, FULL forefoot, damn. Tough bastards but slow AF. At one time this was the pinnacle of navel science and technology. Amazing.
