I think granpa Bob survived and Bobs brother got sucked into the tar pit. Since on the maternal side granma Rose has a name as well.
I think Grandpa is Grandpa and his brother is Bob, who got stuck in a tar pit. Though the way Gramma Rose is done…eh I don’t know.
They don’t know what Rose/Ross (Gramma’s sibling) looked like. They existed, but are represented with a question mark because nobody knows what happened to them. For all we know Rose/Ross was in an accident and died. You know, a Tyrannosaurus wreck.
